This is must read research by Sang Wang, who is an engineer, scientist, and inventor with many U.S.
patents. His fields of expertise span many different areas such as data
communication devices (modem), electronic filters, chemistry, water,
cornea measuring devices, multi-focal soft contact lens, etc. An
improvement of his own health without medicine, diet or exercise caused
him to investigate the phenomenon and led him to the discovery of his
theory of "Reverse Aging".

We
live in a century of highly accelerated advancements in science and
technology. At the turn of the century, man began to fly. Today, we can
even fly to the moon. Isn't it reasonable to expect that science today
should discover the technology of reverse aging? Well, it has!
This
series of articles is to explain scientifically the simple truth about
the process of aging, how to combat the aging process and going
further, how to attempt to reverse this process. Here is the simple
process of aging. Every living cell within our body creates waste
products. The nutrients from our food are delivered to each cell and
they burn with oxygen to provide energy for us to live. The burned
nutrients are the waste products. Whether you eat gourmet or junk food,
all food generates waste products. The food that is either good or bad
for you is determined by the amount and quality of the wastes produced:
toxic, acid, alkaline, etc.
Most
of our cells go through metabolism and old dead cells become waste
products. These waste products must be discharged from our body. In
fact, our body tries its best to dispose of them through urine and
perspiration. Virtually all waste products are acidic; that is why
urine is acidic and skin surface is also acidic. The problem is that,
due to several reasons, our body cannot get rid of 100% of the waste
products it produces. The main reason for this is our life style. We
stay up late and get up early. We do not take time to rest; some of us
work more than one job. We, therefore, spend more time producing waste
products than processing and discharging them.
The
second reason is food. Most of the food we like is mainly acidic.
Acidic food does not necessarily mean that it tastes acidic, but that
the wastes it produces are acidic, Grains and meats are mainly acidic;
fruits and vegetables are alkaline. Citric fruits may taste acidic but
they are considered to be alkaline because they contain alkaline
minerals. The third reason is our environment. More healthy cells are
killed by air, water and soil pollution than the natural death of cells
caused by normal metabolism. Thus, more waste products are created.
The
question is: "What happens to those non-disposed acidic waste
products?" The answer is simple. These waste products become solid
wastes, such as, cholesterol, fatty acid, uric acid, kidney stones,
urates, phosphates, sulphates, etc., and, unknown to us, they
accumulate and build-up somewhere within our body. This accumulation of
non-disposed acidic wastes within our body is the aging process1) .
Alkaline
neutralizes acid. Drinking alkaline water helps our body dissolve acid
wastes and make it easier for the body to dispose of them safely. Since
the accumulation of acid wastes is aging, the reduction of acid wastes
is reverse aging. Alkaline water is not a medicine to cure any disease.
However, if consumed regularly, alkaline water gradually reduces the
accumulated acid wastes. As a result of acid reduction, there are many
reports of natural health improvement in Japan.
We
use alkaline soap to wash acidic dirt accumulated on our skin; we must
wash the acidic dirt accumulated within our body by using alkaline
water. Alkaline water has been available in Asia for over 30 years2)
water ionisers to produce alkaline water have been approved by Japanese
government agencies as medical devices3) .
In
future publications more detailed scientific explanations will be
discussed on the subjects of water, acidity and alkalinity, effects of
acidic wastes on the human body, causes of some adult diseases, effects
of alkaline water, and simple methods of making alkaline water.

Water and Life
Water
sustains all forms of life, including human life. The Chinese character
"sea" consists of three parts, namely water, man and mother. In other
words, sea is the mother of mankind. Although water is all around us,
it is one of the most mysterious substances on this planet. Scientists
are still discovering amazing facts about water.
Most
substances are lightest in the gas state, heavier in the liquid state
and heaviest in solid form. However, water gets lighter in its solid
form than in its liquid form, that's why ice floats in water. If water
didn't have this mysterious property, lakes and ponds would freeze from
the bottom up in the cold of winter, killing all living things within
them. One can appreciate the great wisdom of the Creator in the
preservation of life. Water not only sustains life, but also protects
it.
More
than 70% of our body weight is water; that translates into about 10
gallons of water for a person of 120 lbs. It is very important to have
a good understanding of water and to drink the right kind of water.
Water is a strong solvent; therefore, it carries many invisible
ingredients: minerals, oxygen, nutrients, waste products, pollutants,
etc. Seawater is salty because, through eons, it dissolved minerals and
salts from the mountains and carried them down stream to the ocean.
Inside the human body, blood (90% of which is water) circulates
throughout the body distributing nutrients and oxygen, and collecting
wastes and carbon dioxides, delivering them to the disposal organs. If
water was not a strong solvent, it could not perform these functions.
Water
molecule is H2O; that is two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom stuck
together. The shape of the water molecule is like a Mickey Mouse face;
the head is oxygen and the two ears are hydrogen 1) . Since oxygen is
electrically negative and hydrogen is positive, the water molecule is
electrically polarized. For this reason, a water molecule cannot exist
independently; it must combine with other water molecules to form a
five- or six-sided structure called a water cluster2). In lower
temperatures, most of the structures are hexagonal; therefore,
snowflakes are hexagonal.
In
distilled water, at room temperature, one out of 10 million (1 in 107)
water molecules are ionised. When a water molecule is ionised, it is
split into hydrogen ions H+ and hydroxyl ions OH-. Neutral water means
that the number of hydrogen ions equals the number of hydroxyl ions in
a container. The number is 107 times the entire number of water
molecules in that container (that number we will call N). We abbreviate
this by saying that the water has a pH value of 72 ). Acid water has a
larger number of hydrogen ions than that of hydroxyl ions. For example,
the number of hydrogen ions in acid water, with a pH value of 4, is
10-4 times N, and that of hydroxyl ion is 10-10 times N. The law of
nature is such that the exponents must add up to 14 (4+10). The number
of hydrogen ions in alkaline water, with a pH value of 9, is 10-9 times
N, and that of hydroxyl ion is 10-5 times N. Note that 10-5 is larger
than 10-9 by 10,000 times and, again, 5+9 is 14. Because the exponents
must add up to 14, pH value of 7 is considered neutral. Since the value
of pOH is 14 minus the value of pH, we don't measure nor mention its
value; it will be known once the pH value is known. For that reason,
there are only pH meters and no pOH measuring instruments3)
Since
alkaline water has more OH-s than H+ , there are more oxygen atoms in
it than in neutral water; that's why alkaline water is sometimes called
oxygen rich water. In the same manner, acid water is oxygen deficient
water. An interesting trivial fact is that there are approximately 1025
H2O molecules in a 10-ounce glass of water. If that water has a pH
value of 10, there are approximately 1021 hydroxyl ions (OH-) and
approximately 1015 hydrogen ions (H+). The number of hydrogen ions is
one millionth of that of hydroxyl ions, which is negligible.
It
is this abundant amount of hydroxyl ions that neutralizes acid hydrogen
ions in our body to reduce the accumulated acid wastes, thus reversing
the aging process.

Among
the people who question the validity of alkaline water, the biggest
question is, "What happens to the alkaline water once it reaches the
stomach, which is highly acidic?" People, who have some knowledge of
the human body, including medical doctors, ask this question. Let me
answer that question once and for all to erase any doubts about the
health benefits of alkaline water.
In
order to digest food and kill the kinds of bacteria and viruses that
come with the food, the inside of our stomach is acidic. The stomach pH
value is maintained at around 4. When we eat food and drink water,
especially alkaline water, the pH value inside the stomach goes up.
When this happens, there is a feedback mechanism in our stomach to
detect this and commands the stomach wall to secrete more hydrochloric
acid into the stomach to bring the pH value back to 4. So the stomach
becomes acidic again. When we drink more alkaline water, more
hydrochloric acid is secreted to maintain the stomach pH value. It
seems like a losing battle.
However,
when you understand how the stomach wall makes hydrochloric acid, your
concerns will disappear. A pathologist friend of mine gave me the
following explanation. There is no hydrochloric acid pouch in our body.
If there were, it would burn a hole in our body. The cells in our
stomach wall must produce it on an instantly-as-needed basis. The
ingredients in the stomach cell that make hydrochloric acid (HCI) are
carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O), and sodium chloride (NaCI) or
potassium chloride (KCI).
NaCI + H2O + CO2 = HCI + NaHC03, or
As
we can see, the by-product of making hydrochloric acid is sodium
bicarbonate (NaHC03) or potassium bicarbonate (KHC03), which goes into
blood stream. These bicarbonates are the alkaline buffers that
neutralize excess acids in the blood; they dissolve solid acid wastes
into liquid form. As they neutralize the solid acidic wastes, extra
carbon dioxide is released, which is discharged through the lungs. As
our body gets old, these alkaline buffers get low; this phenomenon is
called acidosis. This is a natural occurrence as our body accumulates
more acidic waste products. There is, therefore, a relationship between
the aging process and the accumulation of acids.
By
looking at the pH value of the stomach alone, it seems that alkaline
water never reaches the body. But when you look at the whole body,
there is a net gain of alkalinity as we drink alkaline water. Our body
cells are slightly alkaline. In order for them to produce acid, they
must also produce alkaline, and vice versa; just as a water ioniser
cannot produce alkaline water without producing acid water, since tap
water is almost neutral. When the stomach pH value gets higher than 4,
the stomach knows what to do to lower it. However, if the pH value goes
below 4, for any reason, the stomach doesn't know what to do. That's
why we take Alka-Seltzer, which is alkaline, to relieve acidic stomach
gas pain. In this case, hydrochloric acid is not produced by the
stomach wall; therefore, no alkaline buffer is being added to the blood
stream.
Let
me give you another example of a body organ that produces acid in order
to produce alkaline. After the food in the stomach is digested, it must
come out to the small intestine. The food at this point is so acidic
that it will damage the intestine wall. In order to avoid this problem,
the pancreas makes alkaline juice (known as pancreatic juice). This
juice is sodium bicarbonate, and is mixed with the acidic food coming
out of the stomach. From the above formulae, in order to produce
bicarbonates, the pancreas must make hydrochloric acid, which goes into
our blood stream.
We
experience sleepiness after a big meal (not during the meal or while
the food is being digested in the stomach), when the digested food is
coming out of the stomach; that's the time when hydrochloric acid goes
into our blood. Hydrochloric acid is the main ingredient in
antihistamines that causes drowsiness.
Alkaline
or acid produced by the body must have an equal and opposite acid or
alkaline produced by the body; therefore, there is no net gain.
However, alkaline supplied from outside the body, like drinking
alkaline water, results in a net gain of alkalinity in our body.
Energy, Vibration and Resonant Frequency
Ever
since the Big Bang, everything in the universe vibrates. All matters,
atoms, molecules and all kinds of substances vibrate when energy is
applied. We cannot see energy but we can see the effects of energy by
observing different kinds of vibrations. Through these vibrations,
energy is transferred from one substance to another.
At
absolute zero temperature (-273.15 °C or -459.67°F), all matters cease
to vibrate. As temperature increases, they vibrate. The velocity and
frequency of vibration depend on the substance: molecular weight,
molecular structure, the size of mechanical structure, etc. When a
tuning fork is banged, it vibrates with a particular pitch, which is
its own resonant frequency. The banging energy is transferred into a
sustaining tone, although the banging energy does not vibrate at that
frequency. The banging energy is an impulse energy that contains a wide
range of frequencies, each with a very small amount of energy. The
tuning fork converts the entire banging energy into a single tone of
vibration.
When
we pass 60Hz (cycles per second) electrical current through a
substance, tungsten, it converts the energy into very high frequency
vibration, namely the visible light frequency. The resonant frequency
of tungsten is the visible light frequency. That's how the electric
light bulb works. The natural resonant frequencies of molecules of
water and organic substances are within the far-infrared (FIR) wave
frequencies (wavelength of 5 to 15 microns); therefore, water and
organic substances absorb energy easily from this radiated FIR wave.
Since it is their resonant frequency, they vibrate vigorously at that
frequency and become the radiator of the frequency as well as its
receiver.
There
is more water inside of our body than on the skin surface; therefore,
FIR wave deeply penetrates the body (2 to 4 inches). If organic
substances are heated by near-infrared (NIR) waves (wavelength of 0.76
to 5 microns), the surface gets hotter than the interior, and interior
gets heated by means of conduction from the surface.
We
burn nutrients to maintain warm body temperature. Our body temperature
is higher than the surrounding; therefore, we radiate heat away from
us. Sleeping with another person, we receive and transmit FIR energy
from and to each other, thus our body burns fewer nutrients to maintain
body temperature. Burning fewer nutrients means that we create fewer
waste products.
Mineral
oxides such as silica (SiO2), alumina (Al2O3) can convert any normal
energy into FIR waves in a most efficient manner so that, in room
temperature, most of the ambient energy will be converted into FIR wave
energy. Most of us have seen an aluminium plate that melts ice right in
front of our eyes. This plate is made of FIR resonant frequency
material that changes the ambient energy to FIR energy, which, in turn,
resonates water molecules in the ice to melt it.
If
a metallic or ceramic surface is coated with this type of FIR radiating
material and the surface is heated by conventional heating method such
as oil or electricity, the surface will generate strong FIR wave. If
this type of heater is used in a big hall such as a basketball stadium,
the air temperature will not be high but people inside will feel warm.
In winter, we notice that the air may be cold outside but we feel warm
under sunlight. It is the same principle. Since we don't have to warm
the air inside the stadium, we save energy. Not only that, there is no
need to turn the heaters on hours before the game.
Every
kind of germs and viruses has its own unique molecular formula; that
means they all have different resonant frequencies. Organic substances
may have more than one resonant frequency. The sum of these frequencies
forms a unique compound frequency. Suppose person "A" has XYZ germs in
his body. If a doctor, with samples of XYZ germs, uses a measuring
device that picks up the compound frequency of the samples, and
amplifies that signal and let it pass through the person "A", XYZ germs
in "A" will resonate to make him feel worse. His body cringes and
restricts the passage of that signal. In this way, a doctor can find
out what is bothering him without x-ray or blood test. A doctor can
also find out all the substances that "A" is allergic to without
lengthy and painful tests.
The
more advanced studies are being conducted where the compound
frequencies of XYZ germs are applied to the person "A" in such a
magnitude that the XYZ germs in "A" will all vibrate so vigorously.
Sounds
like science fiction? Such test equipment that does all that is already
on the market. Doctors can use it to find out which of the homeopathic
medicine is better for a particular person. The medical industry will
face drastic changes in the 21st century if drug companies, FDA and AMA
will not interfere.
Aging and Degenerative Disease
Aging,
as I define it, is the accumulation of acidic wastes within our body.
Our body must maintain slightly alkaline pH level to survive. Our blood
pH value is 7.4 at the artery and the cellular fluid pH value is 7.2 to
7.3. In spite of the fact that our cells produce acidic wastes
constantly, the body fluids maintain this alkaline pH. Our body is an
amazing surviving machine.
Our
body tries very hard to dispose of acidic wastes. Most of these wastes
come out of our body through urine and perspiration. That's why urine
is acid in genera! (The pH value fluctuates between 4.6 to 8 depending
upon what the body is dumping) and the skin surface is acidic. The
acidic skin surface kills most of the germs and viruses that it comes
in contact with, including the AIDS viruses.
In
order to reduce acidity of the blood, our lungs remove carbon dioxide
(CO2) and exhaust it through breathing. Carbonic acid H2CO3 becomes
water H2O when CO2 is removed. This is perhaps the fastest way to
reduce blood acidity. The pH value of blood in the veins fluctuates
widely depending upon the waste products dumped into them. That's why
we only talk about the artery blood pH value, which is fairly constant.
With
all these efforts to dispose of acidic wastes, we still make more
wastes than our body can get rid of. In the meantime, the body must
maintain alkalinity in the body fluids to survive. The secret is to
convert some of the liquid acid into solid acid. If substance is not
dissolved into water, it does not influence the pH value of the water.
Some examples of these solidified acidic wastes are: cholesterol, fatty
acid, uric acid, kidney stones, urates, phosphates, etc. Cholesterol is
incompletely burnt carbohydrate. Cows don't eat cholesterol-rich food
yet they are full of cholesterol because they don't exercise and don't
burn carbohydrates completely.
Acid
coagulates blood! This is the fundamental problem that comes from the
accumulation of acidic wastes. Build-up of acid clogs up capillaries
and prevents smooth blood circulation. Body organs create all kinds of
problems when blood circulation is cut off. It is amazing how the
various body organs recover once blood circulation is restored, unless
permanent damage is done. Even if the circulation is not completely cut
off, when the amount of blood supplied is reduced, the organs function
poorly and aging symptoms appear. Build-ups of too much cholesterol and
plaques in the artery can cause stroke, as we know very well.
Too
many acidic wastes somewhere in our body that slows down blood
circulation cause most of the degenerative diseases. Depending upon
where our body accumulates the acid, disease symptoms are different.
However, the causes are the same: too much acid. Modern medicine is
concerned with the treatment of symptoms rather than the elimination of
the causes of diseases. In the treatment of social ills, we seem to do
the same thing. We address the symptoms of crimes caused by firearms by
building more jail cells rather than outlawing gun sales and teaching
morals in public schools to prevent youngsters from committing crimes.
The
primary place where we accumulate solid acidic wastes in our body may
depend on the individual's genetic makeup. This may explain why some of
the degenerative diseases are hereditary. Diabetes itself is not
hereditary. What is hereditary is the accumulation of solid acidic
wastes around the pancreas. If we do not allow wastes to accumulate
around the pancreas, there will not be diabetes in that family even if
family members reach the age of 50 or 60.
Cancer
cells are acidic while healthy cells are alkaline. Cancer is clearly
the result of acidic wastes accumulation. Cancer and acidic environment
will be discussed in other articles on Science and Health Series. Uric
acid crystals in the joints cause gout. Uric acid comes from nitrogen
in proteins. In Korea, gout is referred to as "the rich man's disease".
Only rich men could afford to eat meat in the old days.
When
phosphoric acid or sulphuric acid is created by the oxidation of
nutrients that contain phosphor and sulphur, the strength of the acid
is too strong for the body to take. To overcome this problem, our body
removes calcium from our skeleton to make phosphate or sulphate, which
is a much weaker acid. Urates and phosphate in kidney stones are the
combination of acid and calcium. This is how osteoporosis develops.
Simply taking calcium pills does not help much because calcium does not
dissolve well. Vitamin D helps dissolve calcium.
Dr.
Sebastian has successfully treated osteoporosis by administering
potassium bicarbonate (KHCO3) to his patients1). Our lungs remove CO2
from potassium bicarbonate and potassium hydroxide (KOH) remains.
Potassium hydroxide is a strong alkaline, which kicks out ionised
calcium from urates, phosphates and sulphates to restore calcium to the
skeleton. Diluted potassium hydroxide is the major ingredient of the
patented AlkaLife®.
We
take vitamins, mineral supplements and trace minerals with the hope of
improving our health. However, if the body acid/alkaline balance is not
maintained well, the body cannot absorb these things well and we wind
up throwing them out. The solution to combat adult diseases caused by
aging is to drink alkaline water. It is too simple for modern medicine
to understand.

The Fallacy of the "Free Radical" Theory
"Free
radicals" and "anti-oxidant" are the latest buzzwords of the health
industry. The claim is that oxidation of some foods creates free
radicals and that these free radicals' transfer of electrons or "holes"
(this is a semiconductor terminology for the absence of electron)
damages the human cells. To prevent this phenomenon we have to eat
anti-oxidant food or take anti-oxidant vitamins.
Technically,
this doesn't make sense. To begin with, the health industry
misunderstands the technical meaning of free radicals. Free radicals
must have either positive or negative polarity. If the oxidation of
food creates free radicals, they all must be of the same polarity.
Otherwise, "free" radicals of opposite polarities will mate with each
other immediately and there will not be any "free radicals".
If
they were all positive polarity free radicals, as the health industry
implies, all the positive "holes" will go to the skin surface
immediately, because the human body is a good conductor. Remember, like
charges repel each other; and the skin surface will become positively
charged. If this should be the case, we would get electrical shocks
whenever we shake hands with another person.
One
example of this phenomenon that we experience physically is when we
walk on a carpeted floor in a dry climate and build up positive charges
in our body. When we touch a doorknob or shake hands, we get a shock.
This is the phenomenon of free radicals. To avoid the pain of shock, we
can grab a metal key firmly and touch the doorknob with the key. We
will then see sparks from the key as it touches the doorknob; this
means that all the charges are discharged instantly. This is how good a
human body conducts electricity.
In
the human body, there is a high conductivity network that spans
throughout the body, in addition to the nerve, blood vessel, and lymph
networks. When true free radicals, such as negative ions in the
atmosphere, enter the human body in a random stochastic manner, they
don't go through our body randomly. They enter and leave our body
through this high conductivity network end points. Electrical current
always travels through the minimum resistance path, i.e., the high
conductivity path. Scientists can detect these high conductivity end
points by using conductivity measuring devices. We now know that these
high conductivity end points correspond to the acupuncture points that
the Chinese had to learn in the hard way through the centuries.
In
our body, the function of this high conductivity network is the same as
a lightning arrester. The lightening arrester provides a path for the
surge of current to go through so that it will not disturb the house or
its electric/telephone wires. If not for this high conductivity network
in our body, free radicals entering our body will travel randomly and
thus disturb the nerve network, sabotaging the orderly flow of brain
commands. God has provided this protective network within our body for
us to live within an atmosphere where there are many free radicals
hitting our body. If there were any so-called free radicals generated
in our body, they will be discharged immediately through this
acupuncture network.
Free
radicals such as negative ions in the atmosphere are good for us. They
stimulate the high conductivity path, providing micro level acupuncture
treatment. Living in an urban area, we miss negative ions. Up in the
mountains or near the sea, there is a higher concentration of negative
ions, generating euphoric feeling in us, and people live longer in
these areas. Fortunately for us, we can buy a negative ion generator to
generate negative ions.
If
these troublemakers were indeed "free radicals", the simple solution
would be to have a negative ion generator in a room to neutralize all
the free radicals and be done with it instantly; and there will not be
any need to take so-called anti-oxidants. It is true that oxidation
creates acidic waste products, but oxidation also provides energy that
is necessary for us to live. Anti-oxidant, therefore, is not the
solution. The solution is to discharge the acidic waste products that
oxidation creates. Some food products, vitamins or herbs are helpful in
getting rid of acidic waste products or transforming these waste
products into a safer form. Perhaps these products are what are
erroneously called "anti-oxidant agents".
Acidic
wastes do have hydrogen ion (H+) radicals but they are not free; they
are always mated with organic or inorganic acid elements and not with
hydroxyl (OH) ions, thus creating an acidic environment. To reduce
these H+ ions, we need OH ions. For this, alkaline water is the best
remedy. By calling acidic waste products resulting from oxidation "free
radicals", we confuse the issue and, therefore, cannot come up with the
proper solution. When we truly understand the problem, a solution is
easy to find.
If
we substitute "free radicals" with "acidic wastes" and "anti-oxidants"
with "waste removing alkaline substances", all the published articles
on "free radicals" make more sense scientifically. We get old because
of our "waste mismanagement". Understanding the fact that waste
products are acidic, and not free radicals, we are on the right path to
finding the solution to anti-aging, or "Reverse Aging".
Water Ioniser and AlkaLife
In
tap water, there are alkaline minerals and acid minerals; alkaline
minerals are positively charged and acid minerals are negatively
charged. A water ioniser converts regular tap water into alkaline water
and acid water by electric separation means.
In
the ioniser, there are two chambers with opposite polarity electrodes.
Alkaline minerals in the positive electrode chamber migrate into the
chamber with negative electrode; the positive electrode repels positive
charges and the negative electrode attracts positive charges. As these
positively charged alkaline minerals enter the negative electrode
chamber, they combine with hydroxyl ions (OH) in H2O, kicking out
hydrogen ions (H+). These hydrogen ions then travel to the negative
electrode and give up their positive charge and become electrically
neutral hydrogen molecule (H2).
The
opposite process takes place with acid minerals. Acid minerals migrate
into positive electrode chamber and combine with hydrogen ions (H+) in
H2O, kicking out hydroxyl ions (OH-). These hydroxyl ions then travel
to the positive electrode, lose negative charge and become water (H2O)
and oxygen (02). In the ioniser, oxygen gas is released from the acid
water chamber and hydrogen gas is released from the alkaline water
chamber. Both chambers remain electrically neutral.
Alkaline
water created by a water ioniser is relatively acid free and, depending
upon the alkaline mineral content of the tap water and the setting of
the ioniser, the pH value of the alkaline water can range from 8.5 to
10.5. The main alkaline minerals of tap water are calcium and a small
amount of magnesium,
AlkaLife®
is a trademark registered alkaline concentrate designed to turn
ordinary drinking water into strong alkaline water with a high pH value
similar to that of alkaline water made by a water ioniser. AlkaLife®
does not eliminate acid minerals in the original drinking water; it
simply adds more alkaline mineral hydroxides to increase the pH value
of the water. However, as long as both types of alkaline water have the
same pH value, the number of hydroxyl ions (OH) in them is the same.
These hydroxyl ions will be looking for the same number of acid
radical, hydrogen ions (H+), in the body to reduce the body's acidity.
The patented ingredients in AlkaLife® are potassium hydroxide (KOH = K+
+ OH-) and a lesser amount of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) = Na+ + OH- ) in
the proper ratio so as not to upset the ratio of potassium and sodium
minerals in the human body. As stated, the predominant alkaline
minerals are potassium and sodium. In the pecking order of ion exchange
of the four alkaline minerals in water, potassium is the strongest,
next is sodium, then calcium, and the last is magnesium. Stronger
minerals can replace weaker minerals, but not the other way around.
For
example, sulphur in food creates sulphuric acid. Since sulphuric acid
is dangerous to the human body, the body robs calcium from the skeleton
and combines it with the sulphuric acid to form sulphate, a weaker acid
salt that doesn't dissolve well. Calcium or magnesium cannot kick out
calcium from sulphate, but potassium or sodium can, thus releasing
calcium back to the skeleton. Sulphuric acid combined with potassium or
sodium is more soluble for the kidneys to process and discharge.
Potassium
and sodium are better than calcium or magnesium in reducing sulphate,
urate, phosphate, and other acidic salts. Webster defines uric acid as
"a white colourless crystalline substance found in urine, being one of
the products of nuclein metabolism. It is nearly insoluble in water,
alcohol, and ether, but soluble in solutions of alkaline salts." Here
also, potassium will work better than calcium. Many people reported
relief from gout (which is caused by uric acid) after drinking alkaline
water. My observation indicates that those people who drink alkaline
water made by adding AlkaLife experienced faster relief from gout.
I
personally add AlkaLife drops to the alkaline water made by an ioniser
to get the benefits of acid-free alkaline water and strong alkaline
minerals such as potassium and sodium.
Health and Diet
Looking
at the global picture, there are three major categories of diseases.
The first is contagious diseases caused by the invasion of foreign live
substances. Today's medical science is effective in isolating these
invaders and finding the killer agents or developing immune shots. I
believe that it is only a matter of time when medical science will find
a cure for AIDS. We already know that the HIV virus cannot survive in
an acidic environment; it cannot be transmitted through skin contact
because skin surface is acidic.
The
second category is degenerative adult diseases caused by the
accumulation of non-disposed acidic wastes within our body. Whether the
wastes are distributed evenly throughout the body or concentrated in
some specific area, they can cause different diseases such as diabetes,
digestive problems, constipation, arthritis, gout, cancer,
osteoporosis, wrinkles, etc. There are various means by which
concentrated wastes are distributed, such as massages, vibrators,
magnetic devices, hot baths, sauna, etc. With the exception of
perspiration, these methods simply redistribute wastes from
concentration. The best way to get rid of acidic wastes through urine
is to drink alkaline water.
The
third category is mysterious diseases caused by nutritional deficiency.
I say "mysterious" because these diseases are rather new and doctors
cannot yet figure out what they are. This category is more common among
those so-called health-conscious people. They eat exclusively "healthy
foods" and exclude all "unhealthy" ones. After an extended time, they
develop nutritional deficiency. Since they eat only healthy food but
still do not feel well, they suspect that some substances in their
drinking water make them sick. They, therefore, insist on drinking
distilled water or reverse osmosis filtered water, believing that pure
water is the best water. What these people don't realize is that
distilled water leaches valuable minerals from the human body, further
depleting the body of needed minerals and nutrients.
Nutritional
deficiency could be the result of special diets, which exclude some
food or over-indulge in others. Over-indulgence in one kind of food
could cause nutritional deficiency/imbalance. Our body needs all kinds
of nutrients; certain nutrients are needed to maintain proper ratios
with other nutrients. For example, we must maintain the proper ratio of
potassium and sodium in our body; taking in sodium salt without a
sufficient amount of potassium can cause health problems, and taking no
sodium can also cause problem, as we recently learned.
Mr.
Hofgren, a health food storeowner from Sweden, visited me after reading
my book and told me an interesting phenomenon. When people start a
vegetarian diet, they definitely feel health improvement. After a few
years, their health deteriorates due to nutritional deficiency.
However, their memory of health improvement is so vivid that they think
they should eat more vegetables, thus making the situation worse.
With
all due respect to nutritionists, there are more nutrients in natural
food that we don't know than what we know. It makes me cringe when I
hear some nutritionist advising people not to eat certain food because
it contains no useful nutrients. Such advice may be doing more harm
than help. I have seen many so-called nutritionists disagreeing with
one another as to what food is good and what is bad.
When
it comes to health and diet, there are two schools of thought.
Professional hospital dieticians advocate a balanced diet for their
patients, making sure that the needed carbohydrate; protein, fat, and
fibre are supplied. They are not necessarily concerned with the types
of waste products that these foods produce. On the other hand, health
food specialists are more concerned with waste products that the foods
produce; they recommend certain kinds of food while excluding others.
They are not necessarily knowledgeable about our body's minimum daily
requirements of certain nutrients.
When
I was developing AlkaLife, I made 10 different ratios of hydroxide and
sodium hydroxide combinations and had them tested on 200 people over a
period of two months. The doctor who conducted the test didn't know
what was in each bottle. The test results showed that the ratio of 75%
potassium to 25% sodium to be the most optimal for the majority of
people. There were two persons who showed a completely different result
20% potassium to 80% sodium was better for them. I told the doctor the
contents of the bottles and the peculiarity of the two persons, she
consulted her charts and found that they were on an
"absolutely-no-sodium" diet. Their body needs more sodium but their
head rejects it, for whatever reason. Animals eat and drink what is
good for them, instinctively, but we human beings eat and drink what TV
ads tell us to. We also reject any food or drink that TV ads tell us
not to. My personal recommendation is to enjoy the food that we like,
but do not over eat or exclude any food. Eat in moderation following
professional dieticians' balanced diet concept, and let alkaline water
do the job of cleansing acidic wastes. Do not use food to cleanse the
wastes, thus running the risk of creating nutritional deficiency and/or
imbalance.
Medical Science and Natural Science
Medical science deals with the statistics of the phenomena while natural science deals with the principles of the phenomena.
To
illustrate my point, let me tell you a story. The famous physicist
Isaac Newton was taking a nap under an apple tree and, as you all know,
an apple fell down and hit him. He did not pull the apple nor did
anybody throw it to him. He wanted to know why the apple fell. In doing
so, he discovered the principle of earth's gravitational force which
pulls everything that has mass.
He
also discovered that if he didn't want the apple to fall down, he had
to support it with an equal and opposite force. This is Newton's first
law of dynamics. He also discovered the fact that if he supported the
apple with a force greater than the gravitational force, the apple
would fly. Applying this principle, we make airplanes fly, and we have
even reached the moon.
If
Isaac Newton were a medical doctor, he would have to verify that
another apple also fell. If another apple also fell, he would then mark
1000 randomly selected apples to see how many apples would fall. Let's
assume that out of the 1000, 997 apples fell because birds ate two of
them and one dried up. Now he had a statistics of 99.7% of apples fell.
That
doesn't mean that pears will fall down with the same probability. So,
he would have to mark 1000 pears, 1000 oranges, 1000 peaches, etc. When
you don't know the principle, you must keep taking samples to establish
statistics. It doesn't take much imagination to take samples and
statistics. This is medical science. Sometimes statistics can be
manipulated to prove selfish motives. The best example of this is
cigarette company research scientists. They concluded that there is no
conclusive evidence that cigarette smoking contributes to cancer. Now
they are being sued.
If
you don't understand what's going on, you can get an erroneous
conclusion also. I heard a story about a group of scientists conducting
an experiment with grasshoppers. They trained 100 grasshoppers to jump
whenever ordered to "Jump!” After several successful tries, they
continued their experiment by removing one hind leg from each
grasshopper and ordered them to jump. They jumped but only short
distances. Then the researchers proceeded to remove the remaining hind
legs. This time, no grasshopper jumped when ordered to. The researchers
concluded that when you remove both hind legs, grasshoppers cannot hear.
"Science
of health" that I am talking about deals with scientific facts and
principle of health. For example, 99% of foods are made of carbon,
hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen; nitrogen is in protein only; food after
oxidation and giving up energy turns into waste products; and these
waste products are 99% acidic. Carbohydrate is a string of carbon,
hydrogen and oxygen, some long strings and some short strings, and the
shorter the string the faster it burns. Completely burnt carbohydrates
result in carbonic acids, that is, water and carbon dioxide. The
chemical formula for fatty acid and cholesterol are incompletely burnt
carbohydrates.
Other
scientific facts: conducting substances moving under magnetic field
gets ionised, i.e. a molecule breaks up into a positively charged part
and a negatively charged part. They are NOT free radicals! As a matter
of fact, contrary to common belief, there is no free radicals generated
inside the human body. (See article number 6 for scientific facts.)
Ever
since the Big Bang, everything in universe is vibrating, transferring
and receiving energy from one substance to another. However, they are
not all vibrating at the same frequency but their own resonant
frequency. When a substance receives energy with its own resonant
frequency, the substance vibrates very vigorously, even to its own
destruction. We all have seen a crystal shattering when a soprano sings
a note at the resonant frequency of the crystal.
Far
infrared (FIR) frequency happens to be the resonant frequency of water
molecule, which is over 80% of human body. There are other substances
whose resonant frequency happens to be that of FIR. These substances
radiate FIR when any energy (in any frequency) is applied to it.
Carbon, in graphite form, and aluminium silicate are some example of
this type of substance and they are used to generate FIR radiation.
Theoretically,
if you are suffering from a bacteria or virus, you can obtain a sample
of the bacteria or virus and pick up its natural resonant frequency of
the bug and amplify it and apply to the person in such a strength to
destroy the bug in that person.
This
is the application of "science of health" by knowing the principle.
When medical industry pays attention to the scientific principle rather
than the statistical data collection, we will have a revolutionary
progress in medicine.
Distilled Water and RO Filtered Water
Water
is a strong solvent; therefore, it carries many invisible substances:
minerals, oxygen, nutrients, waste products, pollutants, etc. Pure
water without any substance is as un-natural as a pocket of vacuum
within a normal atmosphere. A pocket of vacuum will suck in any and
everything around it until the pressure becomes equal to the
surrounding.
Likewise,
pure water will leach out any and every substance that it can dissolve
from the substances that it comes into contact with, until its content
is homogeneous with its surrounding or the water is saturated with
substances so that it can no longer dissolve anymore substances.
Since
the creation of this planet, rainwater has been washing down minerals
from the mountains into the ocean. Ocean water has been saturated for a
long time with specific minerals, yet rivers continue to carry down the
minerals. The result is that at the bottom of the ocean there are tons
of mineral deposits precipitated. If we knew how to recover the
minerals from the bottom of the ocean, we would be very rich.
Distilled
water and RO (reverse osmosis) filtered water contain no minerals,
simulating close to pure water. This pure water should be neutral with
a pH value of 7. However, it measures acid pH! The reason for this
phenomenon is that pure water sucks in carbon dioxides from the
atmosphere. Although it measures acid pH, there are no acid minerals in
that water. If pure water is stored in plastic bottle, the water smells
plastic.
For
this reason, distilled water or RO filtered water should be stored in
glass bottles or special plastic bottles that can block carbon dioxide
penetration. Coca Cola was bottled originally in glass bottles only.
Then came the plastic bottle and it lost the fizzles. Then better
plastic bottles came out that didn't lose carbon dioxides; still
plastic-bottled Coca Cola has to have expiration dates. Carbon dioxides
penetrate through plastics, making pure water acidic.
In
the 1980s and 1990s, the health food industry recommended that people
eat certain types of healthy food and exclude other types of unhealthy
food. Initially, people noticed a marked improvement of their health.
However, staying with this healthy diet for several years, people
suffered from nutritional deficiency syndrome, which the health food
industry concluded as a sickness caused by pollutants in the drinking
water. The health food industry began to sell distillers and RO filters
to protect people. To me, this is a case of arriving at an erroneous
conclusion because they totally misunderstood the facts. (See the
grasshopper’s story in article #10, Medical Science and Natural
Science.)
In
the 1950s distilled water was sold in drug stores with the label "Not
for drinking!" Distilled water was used to fill car batteries and steam
irons. Distilled water is not healthy because it will leach out
valuable alkaline minerals from our body. However, I realize that I
cannot change some people's mind. I am often asked if it is OK to add
AlkaLife(R) to distilled water. I wish people would not drink distilled
water; however, if one must drink distilled water, it is better to add
AlkaLife(R) than not to add.
The
question is how many drops of AlkaLife® to add to distilled water. For
a glass of ordinary drinking water, I recommend two drops and
typically, the pH value increases from 7.5 to 10. However, two drops of
AlkaLife(R) in distilled water does not bring the pH value up to an
alkaline value. Sometimes, one may have to put more than 10 drops to
make distilled water alkaline. This is caused by the presence of
carbonic acid in "pure" water, so, how many drops should one put in? My
answer is 2 drops.
In
two drops of AlkaLife(R), the number of hydroxyl ions (OH) is 1
followed by 20 to 21 zeros, and they are mated with potassium and
sodium. In the presence of carbonic acids (H20 + C02 = H2C03 = H+ +
HC03") the hydroxyl ions combines with H+ ions (H+ + OH = H2O) and
potassium+ and sodium"1" ions combine with HCO, ions and become
potassium bicarbonate (KHC03) and sodium bicarbonate (NaHC03) which are
alkaline buffer. When CO2 are removed from these bicarbonates by the
lungs, the original KOH and NaOH in AlkaLife(R) are restored. When we
are dealing with carbon dioxides, the pH value can be confusing. What
is important is the number of OH ions in the water that will neutralize
H+ ions in the body acid. For this reason I recommend 2 drops of
AlkaLife® in a glass of distilled or RO filtered water and ignore the
pH value. Mathematics and Life
The
Japanese have been drinking alkaline water for over 50 years. They
developed water ionisers over a half a century ago. Based on their
experiences, they recommend five glasses of alkaline water a day to see
health improvements.
From
the above facts, several interesting calculations can be made. This
article is the applications of mathematics in life. Although many of us
hate the subject of mathematics, knowing simple mathematics can save or
extend our life. For the purpose of the calculations, 1 am going to
assume that a glass of water is approximately 10 oz. with a pH value of
10.
Ten
ounces of water is approximately 300 cubic centimetres of water, and
weighs 300 grams. In the matter of atoms, hydrogen atom is the smallest
and its mass is 1.7 x 10-27 kilograms. We use this weight as unit of 1
when we talk about the mass of any atom. Oxygen has a mass of 16 units,
carbon 12. Sodium 23, potassium 39, nitrogen 14, etc. The atomic weight
of a water molecule H2O has a molecular weight of 18 units. Translating
that into kilograms, it is 18 x l.7 x 10-27 kilograms, that is. 30.6 x
10-27 kilograms.
Dividing
300 grams (0.3 kilograms) by 30.6 x 10-27 kilograms, we get 0.98 x
1025. In other words, there is approximately 1 x 1025 number of H2O
molecules in a 10-ounce glass of water. If the pH value of the water is
10, the pOH value is 4 (14-10=4). And the number of hydroxyl ions (OH-)
is 1x1021 (1x1025 x 1x10-4 = 1x1021: l with 21 zeros after it. This is
the number of hydroxyl ions we put into our body when we drink 10 ounce
of alkaline water with a pH value of 10.
Since
one hydroxyl ion (OH-) is neutralizing one acidic hydrogen ion (H+). An
equal number of hydrogen ions, that is, 1x1021 hydrogen ions, will be
neutralized when we drink 10 ounce of alkaline water with a pH value of
10. AlkaLife® is designed to have that number of hydroxyl ions in two
drops of it.
Whether
we put 2 drops of AlkaLife® in 10 ounce or 6 ounce of water, the number
of hydroxyl ions we drink is the same. If we reduce the amount of water
to less than 6 ounce, then 2 drops of AlkaLife" will make the water
taste bitter. So, with AlkaLife®, it is the number of drops that we
consume daily that matters, not the amount of water we drink. We
recommend 10 drops for a healthy 120 Ibs person. It could be more than
10 drops for a heavier person with a more severe acid problem, for a
smaller person, one could reduce the number of drops.
The
fact that drinking 5 glasses of alkaline water seems to have effects on
health improvement means that the first 4 glasses cancel the acidic
waste produced that day and the 5th glass is needed to reduce old
accumulated wastes.
Interesting
mathematics: we break even for that day if we drink only 4 glasses of
alkaline water in one day; we don't get older or younger that day. We
maintain the status quo. Thinking carefully, we extended our life for
one day because we drank 4 glasses of alkaline water, otherwise, we
would have been one day older. This means that one glass of alkaline
water. I x lO21 number of hydroxyl ions (OH-), can extend 6 hours of
our life! Wow! How much would you pay to extend your life for 6 hours?
Someone
asked me what would happen if he drank 100 glasses of alkaline water a
day. I answered him. "What happens if you took showers 7 times on
Monday morning, could you go for the rest of the week without taking
any shower?" As he would waste soap and water after the second shower,
he would have wasted alkaline water after 5 or 6 glasses. We cannot
rush the Mother Nature by force.
You
might ask if a dying patient's life can be extended by 6 hours with a
glass of alkaline water. The answer is "no", because irreparable
damages have already been done. It is almost the same as giving a glass
of alkaline water to someone who got shot and bleeding to death; it
will not make him live 6 more hours.
The
theory of 6 hours of life extension with 2 drops of AlkaLife® applies
to the average person without any irreparable damage due to excess
acids. Alkaline water should be consumed regularly to prevent any
development of acid accumulation that may cause permanent damages.
Myth of Organic and Inorganic Minerals
Health
food industry has come up with a new gimmick trying to sell ''health
food". They tell people that inorganic minerals are not absorbed by
human body and only the organic minerals are effective in human body;
therefore, one must intake healthy food with organic minerals. This is
the most irresponsible statement by someone who has no basic
understandings of chemistry, atoms and molecules.
In
the periodic table of elements, there are 107 elements with all
different atomic number and atomic weights. Each element has a number
of protons and neutrons that give the weight of the element and they
are surrounded by spinning electrons, whose number is equal to the
number of protons. Since the protons have positive charge and the
electrons have negative charge, each element is electrically balanced
all by itself.
Electrons
spin around very fast. That is the only way that the electrons do not
collide with protons. They form layers of orbital spheres. Depending
upon the number of the electrons on the outer most layer, the stability
of the electrons changes, in other words, the elements have a tendency
to give up an electron or two, or strong tendency to pull away an
electron or two from other elements near by.
An
element which gives up an electron becomes positively charged. Alkaline
minerals are in this category. An element which pulls away additional
electrons from other element becomes negatively charged, and these are
acid minerals. In general, in the periodic table of the elements, the
elements on the left hand side are alkaline minerals and the right
side, the acid minerals. All these minerals are inorganic minerals.
Some
elements have very stable electron orbit structure and they are called
inert elements. Gold is the most inert element that does not react with
other elements. That's why it is the most precious metal.
Common positive metals in the order of active reaction potential is listed below.
Potassium is the most active and gold is the most inert mineral.
K,
Potassium; Na, Sodium: Ca, Calcium; Mg, Magnesium; Al, Aluminium; Zn.
Zinc; Fe. Iron; Ni, Nickel; Sn, Tin; Co, Cobalt; Mn, Manganese; Pb,
Lead; Cu, Copper; Hg, Mercury; Ag, Silver; Pt, Platinum; An, Gold.
If
a higher power mineral is injected into an aqueous solution containing
lower power mineral compound, the higher power mineral replaces the
lower power mineral. The ion exchange in a water softener works with
this principle. Hard water contains too much calcium compounds and
sodium chlorides (salt tablets) are interjected into the water softener
to removed calcium and occupy the place where calcium was and the
calcium is combined with the chlorine to form calcium chloride and
calcium chloride precipitates to the bottom of the unit that is back
washed out periodically. This is why the water from water softener
contains less calcium but contains sodium. Each mineral atom has its
own oxygen reduction power.
The
pH value of the alkaline water is determined by the number of hydroxyl
ions (OH-) in the water. However, the minerals that are mated with the
hydroxyl ions can have different redox potentials. The OH- ions are
used to neutralize H+ ions and make H2O: however, the alkaline minerals
in the alkaline water are used to replace the lower power minerals in
the aqueous solution.
When
the cells produce too much poisonous acid such as sulphuric acid, the
body robs calcium from the bones and changes it to calcium sulphate. It
is a little safer acidic salt. If the alkaline water contains minerals
stronger than calcium, such as potassium and sodium can kick out
calcium and return them to the bones and the potassium-sulphate can be
discharged easily because it dissolves better than calcium sulphate.
All
these minerals in our body functioning to balance the acid and alkaline
to survive are inorganic minerals. The human body does not make
distinction where and how the minerals come from. This notation of
inorganic minerals are useless because the body does not assimilate and
throws them out unless it came in the form of organic minerals are
totally irresponsible.
Table
salt, sodium chloride, is a combination of two inorganic minerals,
namely sodium and chlorine. There is nothing organic about it. However,
the body assimilates them and can cause many changes in our body. I am
concerned about the people who know nothing about the basics of
chemistry but make irresponsible statements to sell their products.
There is no such thing as organic minerals. All minerals that play many functions in our body are inorganic minerals.
How to Stay Young and Healthy
There are two basic scientific facts we need to know in order to understand human health and longevity.
As
we age, we build up acidic wastes in our body. Acid comes from foods
that we eat, some foods producing more acid than others. Acidic wastes
are formed in our cells as we burn nutrients to get energy to live. Our
body tries its best to dump the acidic wastes through urine,
perspiration, and breathing CO2 out. Unfortunately, we cannot get rid
of 100% of these acidic wastes. We gradually accumulate these leftovers
somewhere within our body. This is the process of aging.
Acid
coagulates blood. It is a necessary property of blood to stop bleeding
when we have a cut. Because of this life-saving property, blood gets
thick as we age (or as we accumulate more acid), causing poor blood
circulation. Poor blood circulation is the primary cause of adult
degenerative diseases.
When
we understand the above scientific facts, the solution to maintain
youth and health is to reduce the acids in our body. Taking blood
thinners is the wrong solution because bleeding will not stop when we
have a cut; this is unnatural. Surgeons will not operate on patients
who are on blood thinners. Then how can we reduce the acids? Here are
three conventional and one lesser-known methods.
Diet: Reducing food intake forces the body to use up stored fats.
Exercise: Burn more calories and sweat more acids.
Physical removal: Liposuction or surgery.
Neutralization of acids: Drink alkaline water to dissolve acids for safe discharge through the kidneys.
Diet
and exercise do work to a certain extent; but to be effective and long
lasting, we must follow through for an extended time, which is not that
easy. Since we build up acids gradually and the entire body adjusts to
the changes accordingly, we must, therefore, reduce slowly, giving all
parts of our body time to adjust to the change. It is risky to rush
this process. Liposuction or surgery is not only painful and expensive,
but both are also unnatural. These methods can only remove fatty acids
but not other deeply imbedded acids such as uric acid, kidney stones,
sulfate, etc.
Drinking
alkaline water is the cleanest and most effective way to reduce acids.
The Japanese have been drinking alkaline water for over half a century.
They developed a machine, called a water ioniser, that electrically
splits tap water into alkaline water and acid water. At the end of
World War II, Americans lived longer than the Japanese by about six
years. Today, fifty years later, Japanese people live longer than
Americans by about six years. In fact, they now have the longest life
span on earth.
How
can we get alkaline water? A water ioniser is one method. However,
depending on the mineral content of the tap water, the ioniser may not
produce high pH alkaline water. Another way to make alkaline water is
with the alkaline concentrate, AlkaLife. Two drops of it in a glass of
ordinary drinking water (6 to 8 oz.) changes the water to alkaline

Alkaline
water does not burn fatty acids away but dissolves them. When we touch

1994). Mr. Mencken wrote these words in 1919. Indeed life's struggle is
against retained acids (hydrogen ions are acid radicals). The most
effective scientific weapon against acid is alkaline water.
Science has finally discovered the secret of health and longevity!
"You
are what you eat, or rather what you absorb". Indeed, what we eat is
very important for us to sustain life and maintain good health.
Unfortunately,
there are many conflicting theories as to what is good food and what is
bad. This paper is not trying to tell you what to eat and what not to
eat.
A
major part of the foods that we eat is made of 4 elements: carbon,
nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen. Less than 2% of the foods are inorganic
minerals, alkaline and acid. Only protein contains nitrogen; fat and
carbohydrates are strings of carbon and hydrogen mixed with oxygen.
(Without oxygen mixed in, it is called hydrocarbon and is food for the
automobile: gas and oil.)
Foods
burn with oxygen in our cells to give us energy to live. When
completely burnt, carbohydrates become CO2 (carbon dioxides) and H2O
(water). The chemical formula for cholesterol and fatty acid is
incompletely burnt carbohydrates; which means they can be burnt later
to give us energy. If we fast, or stick to a low carbohydrate diet, our
body burns stored fatty acids to get the energy. This is how we can
lose weight.
We
don't get fat because we eat fatty foods. Fatty acid comes from
incompletely burnt carbohydrates. In other words, if we eat foods high
in carbohydrates and don't exercise, the foods become fat. Look at
cows: they only eat grass but beef is the highest in fat and
cholesterol; because cows don't exercise. For decades, Americans were
told to eat a low fat high carbohydrate diet; today, obesity is our
nation's "biggest" problem. (Pun intended.)
Carbohydrates
come in many forms, usually strings of carbon and hydrogen mixed with
oxygen. Some have longer strings, some shorter. The shorter the string,
the faster it burns. Sugar has short string and burns faster; grains
have longer strings and burn slower. Since sugar burns faster and
easier, it takes away the opportunity for the longer
grain-carbohydrates to burn, creating more fatty acids. We all know
that sugar is not healthy. In the family of carbohydrates, there is one
that burns even faster than sugar: alcohol.
Burning
carbohydrates produces carbonic acids (H2CO3), which goes into the
blood stream. When this carbonic acid goes through the lungs, the lungs
remove CO9 and leaves only H2O. This removal of CO2 by the lungs is the
quickest way to reduce blood acidity, and blood from the heart contains
very small amount of CO2. When we drink alcohol, it burns so fast that
the lungs cannot remove CO2 fast enough, and blood with the high level
of CO2 goes into the brain, and we get intoxicated.
In
February 2000, the U. S. Department of Agriculture sponsored the "Great
Nutrition Debate" on weight loss diets. Many prominent diet gurus,
including Dr. Robert Atkins, Dr. Dean Ornish and Dr. John McDougall,
were there to debate the merits of their respective diet programs: the
low carbohydrates high protein diet, the ultra-low-fat regimen, the
Asian rice plan, etc. The only thing anyone could agree on was that
Americans need to lose weight; other than that, the debate's conclusion
was "they all agreed to disagree". All the doctors have personal
experiences in successful weight reduction cases, but they do not have
scientific understandings of their experiences; therefore, they could
not agree with other people's experiences.
As
laypeople, we find it very difficult to decide which diet program to
follow. Different programs suggest contradicting strategies; not only
that, those who advise on specific diets do not have the technical
understanding of what is in the food nor do they know about individual
needs. This is the blind leading the blind. As a result, many people
develop nutritional deficiency problems, especially among the so-called
health-conscious people.
Dr.
Atkin's diet is right for weight loss purposes, but a diet high in
protein has its problem. When protein is oxidized, it becomes uric acid
and develops ammonia. Uric acid is a poisonous acid, and, unless
neutralized by alkaline minerals, could be dangerous. In the absence of
sufficient alkaline minerals in the diet, the body robs calcium from
the bones to change uric acids into urates (a primary cause for
osteoporosis). Uric acids in the joints cause gout urates in the joints
cause arthritis. Gout is very painful because uric acid is poisonous.
Some
people diet to lose weight, others select special diets to reduce
acidic wastes in the body. Among the latter group are vegetarians and
macrobiotic diet people. At the beginning, these diets seem to work;
but after an extended time, people's health begins to deteriorate due
to nutritional deficiency. But based upon their experiences of health
improvement at the beginning, more people believe they should increase
their special diets. This is a vicious cycle.
Unfortunately,
there is no medicine for nutritional deficiency syndrome; alkaline
water cannot help either. Food supplements may help, but the chances of
finding the right supplements are very slim. Another thing to watch out
for is that some natural herbal supplements work as blood thinners to
help blood circulation. These supplements could mislead us as if they
give us more energy; they do not reduce acids. But they only force
blood to be fluid even under an acidic environment, like aspirin does.
My
recommendation is not to overeat or indulge in any particular food, and
do not exclude any food. Eat a wide variety of foods and let the
intelligent body select the needed nutrients. Do not try to use foods
to eliminate acidic wastes in our body; we will wind up creating more
acidic wastes. Let alkaline water do the cleansing job.
Exercise and Health
We
all know that exercise is good for our health. It helps burn calories
and discharge acidic wastes through perspiration. It also tones muscles
and helps build a lean and muscular body. Through exercise, many people
lose weight and improve their health.
Then,
why isn't everybody exercising? We have many excuses but also some
justifiable reasons for not exercising. Proper exercise is both
time-consuming and hard work. Quick and easy exercises are not as
effective for health improvement. And some of us are physically unable
to exercise properly.
One
of the difficulties of exercise is knowing when we are over-doing it,
which leads to lactic acid build-up, which could create problems.
Lactic acid is induced by the lack of oxygen due to improper breathing
or pushing beyond the limits. Lactic acid could cause exercise-induced
asthma.
As
we age, we build up acid debris or blood clots in our blood. These are
the results of too much acid in our body. During exercise, our blood
pressure could be extremely high temporarily. This is why we measure
blood pressure in a relaxed mood to get consistent readings. While
exercising, there is the risk of debris or clots being pushed by the
extremely high pressure and plug up our blood vessels leading to a
critical part of our brain. This is why we hear many people having
strokes during exercise.
It
is imperative that we eliminate these debris or clots before any
rigorous exercise regimen. Alkaline water is the only solution to
dissolve these acidic solids in our blood. Blood thinner is not the
solution. Blood thinners may force the blood to be fluid under an
acidic environment, but they do not change the environment from acid to
alkaline; therefore, it does not dissolve the acidic solids in the
blood.
Another
benefit of exercise is that it warms the body internally, especially
the muscles. Heat makes us sweat out the acidic wastes/heavy metals
accumulated under the skin.
On
the other hand, if we over-exercise, our arms and legs will be sore the
following day. Stress and over-exercising burn nutrients fast and
create concentrations of acidic waste. These wastes are created so fast
that normal blood circulation could not carry them out fast enough and
they form pools of concentrated acid. When this happens, capillaries
surrounding the pools of acids get clogged up, preventing normal blood
circulation to get the acid out.
Initially,
these spots, where nutrients are burning fast, are high in temperature,
and then cool off after blood circulation is blocked. This blocked
blood circulation is the cause of pain or soreness. Thermo graphic
photos show a lower temperature at the location of pain/soreness. Since
the original clogging action of the capillaries takes place at high
temperature, and then the lower temperature shrinks the capillaries,
the removal of acidic wastes becomes more difficult.
We
need to heat the acid concentration area. If the soreness is not
severe, we can exercise more to force the temperature up to expand the
capillaries to enable blood circulation. This exercise cannot be so
severe as to create more acidic wastes, but just enough to heat expand
the clogged up capillaries.
To
heat the area of acid inside our body without any further exercise, we
can use FIR (far infrared ray) heating pads for deep heating. FIR
frequency is the same as the water molecule resonance frequency;
therefore, it can heat water the best. This is the reason why FIR heat
penetrates deep inside our body. Regular heating pads must burn the
skin to heat inside by conduction means.
Once
the area is heated by FIR, without creating any additional acidic
wastes, the clogged up capillaries are expanded. When one part of our
body is hotter than the other surrounding parts, our body rushes blood
in to even out the temperature. This temperature balancing action
allows the blood to carry out the acids and relieve pain. These acids
are now distributed throughout the body. Massage, acupressure and
vibrators are helpful in distributing the wastes to relieve pain. To
get them outside of our body, we must drink more alkaline water. Note
that there is no pain-killing medicine involved here.
Where
there is a pool of acidic wastes surrounded by clogged up capillaries
and blood circulation is cut off, there is pain. Provided that there
are nerve endings to feel the pain. Unfortunately, many places inside
our body do not have nerve endings. Some people walk around with
leftover surgical tools in their body! Many of us are walking around
with acidic concentration(s) in our body, undetected. By the time it
grew so big that we feel pain, even in areas without any nerve endings,
it is usually too late. That is why adults over 40 are advised to have
regular checkups, hoping for early discoveries.
To
prevent this kind of tragedy, I recommend FIR sauna to heat the body
internally and drink ample alkaline water. When the body is more
alkaline, it is less likely for acidic wastes to form.
Exercise
is good, but make sure you know what you are doing. Combining alkaline
water with exercise will diminish any side effects of exercise: for
example, lactic acid will be neutralized by alkaline water.
Understanding Cancer
The
Japanese classify human diseases into two major categories: contagious
diseases and adult degenerative diseases. Contagious diseases arc
caused by viruses and bacteria, and modern medical science is very much
advanced in taking care of them. Adult degenerative diseases are caused
by acidic wastes our body generates. The most dreaded disease in this
category is cancer, a major cause of death in this country.
There
are two theories of cancer development. In 1923, German biochemist. Dr.
Otto Warburg (1883-1970). discovered the 'cause' of cancer and received
a 1931 Nobel Prize. In his book. The metabolism of Tumours, Dr. Warburg
demonstrated that the primary cause of cancer was the replacement of
oxygen in the respiratory chemistry of normal cells by the fermentation
of sugar. The growth of cancer cells is a fermentation process, which
can be initiated only in the relative absence of oxygen. The National
Cancer Institute verified Dr. Warburg's theories in the 1950s: however,
very little work has been done since then to determine the causes of
oxygen deficiency in the human body.
Herman
Aihara, in his book, Acid & Alkaline, states that: "If the
condition of our extra-cellular fluids, especially the blood, becomes
acidic, our physical conditions will first manifest tiredness,
proneness to catching colds, etc. When these fluids become more acidic,
our condition then manifests pains and suffering such as headaches,
chest pains, stomach aches, etc. According to Keiichi Morishita in his
Hidden Truth of Cancer, if the blood develops a more acidic condition,
then our body inevitably deposits these excess acidic substances in
some area of the body such so that the blood will he able to maintain
an alkaline condition.
As
this tendency continues, such areas increase in acidity and some cells
die; then these dead cells themselves turn into acids. However, some
other cells may adapt in that environment. In other words, instead of
dying - as normal cells do in an acid environment -some cells survive
by becoming abnormal cells. These abnormal cells are called malignant
cells. Malignant cells do not correspond with brain function or with
our own DMA memory code. Therefore, malignant cells grow indefinitely
and without order. This is cancer."
Acid
solution has more H+ ions than OH- ions. Compared with neutral water of
H2O, acid solution is deficient in oxygen. The opposite is true with
alkaline solution. Mr. Aihara does not mention anything about the lack
of oxygen; he talks about the acidification of extra cellular fluids
that causes cancer. Dr. Warburg states that the primary cause of cancer
is the lack of oxygen in a cell, he does not mention anything about
acidity, which causes lack of oxygen. Knowing that acidity creates lack
of oxygen, both Dr. Warburg and Mr. Aihara are talking about the same
environment, except Dr. Warburg deals with the symptoms of acid
build-up and Mr. Aihara the cause. 1 believe that Mr. Aihara hits the
nail right on the head.
The
German approach is to supply more oxygen to alleviate the symptoms,
while the Japanese approach is to reduce acidity, the very cause of
cancer, with an alkaline diet. The fact that malignant cancer cells are
acidic and healthy cells are alkaline proves that cancer is the result
of acidity. Even if the tumours were removed successfully by surgical
means, as long as the acidic environment is not changed into an
alkaline environment, new tumours will start all over again.
In
America, we are now finding out that diet has something to do with
cancer. Cancer is caused by excess acid in our body and that acid comes
from the food we cat. Cancer is not caused by free radicals, but acid
radicals H+ hydrogen ion. Hydrogen ions in an acid solution are not
free: they are always mated with negative acid radicals. Mr. H.L.
Mencken, speaking about the meaning of life and death stated:
"Life
is a struggle, not against sin, not against the Money Power, not
against malicious animal magnetism, but against hydrogen ions."<
Since
cancer is caused by excess acidic waste in our body, drinking alkaline
water to reduce them is the best cancer prevention method. Alkaline
water does not have any nutritional value to give us energy or
medicinal value to cure any disease; however, it neutralizes acid and
improves blood circulation. With more alkaline blood circulating
throughout the body, alkaline blood can inhibit the growth of cancer
cells and may even kill existing cancer cells.
Several
people reported to me that they applied AlkaLife solution directly on
the skin cancer area and killed cancer cells. I understand that "it
hurt like hell and left an ugly red scar": however, after about 2 weeks
new skin grew back, and the cancer did not recur. A more interesting
fact is that healthy skin around the cancer did not burn, only the
cancerous part burned. Cancer cells are acid-thriving cells and cannot
survive in a strong alkaline environment. Conventional treatment of
cancer, such as radiation or chemotherapy, kills both cancer and
healthy cells, thereby causing more damage.
I
do not recommend anyone treating skin cancer with AlkaLife without the
supervision of a medical professional. 1 do hope that the medical
industry will conduct controlled test on skin cancer by using strong
alkaline solution of varying values of pH to come up with a better cure
for skin cancer. The day will come when doctors, knowing the size and
the pH value of the tumour, can destroy cancerous tumours by injecting
the correct amount of alkaline concentration directly into the tumour,
killing the cancer cells without harming the healthy cells.
The
concept of retained acid damaging health is not new, neither are
efforts to reduce acid in our body for better health. However, when we
think of health, we only think of diet and exercise and miss the most
efficient and easiest method: alkaline water. One thing to remember is
that alkaline water is not destroyed by stomach acid as discussed
earlier.
Pregnancy and Aging
The following is an e-mail message I received from Sandy Peppersack on August 20, 2002.
MESSAGE:
After
having my son 3 1/2 years ago, I became ill-severe
bleeding/haemorrhaging for 6 months per period, severe weight gain,
loss of hair, migraines, joint aches and pains just to name a few. I
tried dietary changes, exercise changes, herbs, medication, etc. All
helped a little, but not enough. We found the AlkaLife drops and within
weeks, the bleeding slowed, after 5 weeks, the bleeding stopped and I
actually have a cycle. I have started to lose the weight; the hair is
starting to come back. Shortly after starting the drops, I became
pregnant and the drops settled my morning sickness, although I am

When
a woman gets pregnant, she loses quite a bit of alkaline minerals to
the foetus. In creating mankind. God made sure that the new life gets
priority in alkaline minerals. The fetus stays in a water bag
(placenta) for 9 months, until the water breaks. During that time, the
fetus receives nutrients through the umbilical cord for energy and
growth. When the nutrients are burnt, they create acidic wastes, which
the fetus must discharge into the placenta. Since the mother's blood
vessels are not connected to the fetus' blood vessels, her blood
vessels cannot carry out the wastes that the fetus makes.
In
the early stage of the pregnancy, mother's body loses alkaline minerals
to the placenta to make sure that the adequate amounts of alkaline
minerals are there to neutralize all the acidic discharges from foetus
for the next 9 months. This causes her blood to become acidic rather
suddenly, which is the cause of morning sickness, as discovered by
Japanese doctors. This is why drinking alkaline water immediately
relieves morning sickness.
If
the mother had adequate alkaline reserve, i.e., plenty of alkaline
mineral supply in the form of alkaline buffer in the blood, she would
not even have morning sickness.
Otherwise,
not only would she have a severe case of morning sickness, but the
placenta will not have enough alkaline minerals to neutralize all the
acidic discharges from the foetus during the pregnancy. In this case,
the baby's chance of having jaundice upon birth is very high.
Before
a woman becomes pregnant, she should drink ample amount of alkaline
water to avoid morning sickness and have a healthy baby. Without enough
alkaline minerals, the woman ages considerably during pregnancy and may
experience all kinds of post-delivery problems, such as those mentioned
above. I know a woman who lost her teeth after delivery, because she
lost so much calcium to the newborn during pregnancy. Pregnancy is a
major cause of osteoporosis among women.
Lack
of alkalinity brings about many diseases; over acidity creates solid
wastes such as cholesterol, fatty acid, uric acid, kidney stones,
plaques, etc. Excess acid thickens the blood, which slows down the
blood circulation, and poor blood circulation invites all kinds of pain
and diseases.
From
the time we are in our mothers' womb to the time we die, our lives go
through a constant balancing act of acid and alkaline. Acid leads to
pain and sickness and eventual death; alkaline leads to health and
longevity. Even with diet and exercise, acidity usually wins. We need
an external boost of alkalinity to offset the imbalance of excess acid.

Fallacies of Blood Thinners
Why Don't Doctors Operate on Patients on Blood Thinners?
The
human blood has many God-given life-saving properties; when it is
exposed to air, rapid oxidation takes place and it becomes strong acid.
It thickens under acidic conditions, and hardens under strong acidic
conditions to stop bleeding.
Blood
gets thicker as we get older because blood becomes more acidic as we
age. The foods that we eat burn with oxygen to give us energy, and then
they turn into acidic wastes. Our body tries its best to get rid of
these wastes through urine and perspiration.
Unfortunately,
we cannot get rid of them one hundred percent; we must store the
leftovers somewhere in our body. This is the process of acidification;
which, in turn, is the process of aging.
Since
acid coagulates blood, blood circulation around the areas of acid
accumulation becomes poor and all kinds of aging diseases develop.
Going one step further, blood thickens with clots and fatal results
could happen. For this, modern medicine developed blood thinners to
force blood to be fluid, even under acidic conditions. Rather than
eliminating the cause of blood thickening, we rely on symptomatic
treatments, regardless of all the negative side effects.
When
artificial blood thinner is interjected into the blood vessel, blood is
forced to be fluid and bleeding cannot be stopped. For this reason,
doctors cannot operate on patients while they are on blood thinners or
aspirin, which also acts as a blood thinner. Blood thinner ruins a

Some
Chinese "natural" herbal medicines are merely blood thinners; this can
fool the patients as if they are getting more energy. People may not be
aware that they are taking blood thinners, but their blood may not
coagulate when exposed to air. For this reason, doctors must order a
coagulation test before any surgery.
In
order to prevent blood from coagulation, we must remove the cause of
blood thickening, which is excess acid. We must reduce the accumulated
acid from our body, thus keeping the blood fluid and maintaining
blood's ability to stop bleeding when there is a cut. Commonly known
methods to reduce acid from our body are: (1) stop drinking soft

Acidosis The Major Cause of Sickness and Death

Acidosis

Commercial
foods are acid foods. Acid foods are addictive, causing over-eating and
weight management problems. Whole natural foods have a balanced pH.
Live
people need live, whole, alkaline, green food. This is a difficult
concept because of the green taste. We have to cultivate a taste. Then
our bodies will reject dead commercial foods, salt and sugar. Also, you
have to take whole live foods over time in order to reverse the effects
of many years of eating commercial foods. Adults are more like children
than children. They will make a very brief attempt to change to raw
whole foods or Barleygreen®, and after a few days they quit, muttering
that didn't help them. How can anyone expect to reverse the effects of
years and years of poor eating habits in only a few days? Most people

food. Many experts do not agree that natural and live foods do indeed
reduce body acid. The dietary approach may work if the diet program is
just right for that individual and that the individual is persistent;
however, an unbalanced diet could result in nutritional deficiency.
The
world is missing the point of using alkaline water for acid reduction.
Alkaline water works better than diet because it does not add more
wastes in the process of reducing acids. All special diets and exercise

Many
MDs misunderstand that stomach acid neutralizes alkaline water and
drinking alkaline water is, therefore, useless. This is not true! The
fact is that if the stomach gets too alkaline or less acidic due to
drinking alkaline water, the stomach must produce more hydrochloric
acid to maintain the original acidic state. In the process of producing
hydrochloric acid, the stomach must also produce sodium bicarbonate, an
alkaline buffer, and put it into the blood stream, making the blood
more alkaline. The stomach makes hydrochloric acid by this formula:
H2O + CO2 + NaCI = HCI + NaHCO3 Water + carbon dioxide + salt = hydrochloric acid + sodium bi-carbonate

No. If you put in more than 5 drops, you may taste some bitterness.

alkaline water for over 50 years without any side effects.
Can children drink alkaline water?
Yes, but reduce the number of drops per day in proportion to his/her body weight. E.g., 5 drops a day for a child of 60 lbs.
Can I give alkaline water to my dog/cat?
Yes, animals also create acid wastes after they eat.
How do I take AlkaLife?
Add

How soon would I feel the effect(s) of drinking alkaline water?

depends on the individual and the kind of symptoms you have. Many
customers experience relief of gout pain, acid reflux, morning
sickness, kidney stones, fibromyalgia, high altitude sickness, high
blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, etc. Some people feel the
effects immediately (such as morning sickness and high altitude
sickness). Some symptoms, such as high blood pressure, gout, high

Is it OK to boil alkaline water?

you read all the ingredients in antacids? Antacids are for temporary

alkaline water is a lifestyle change; one must drink continuously over
time to maintain good health. With all the ingredients in antacids, it
is not recommended for long-term use.
What is the difference between alkaline water made by a water ioniser and that made by AlkaLife?
They
are the same as far as the effects on neutralizing acids, as long as
the values are the same. The difference is the alkaline minerals in the

What is wrong with drinking baking soda water? Isn't that also alkaline water?
Baking
soda is sodium bicarbonate; adding it to drinking water does not raise
the pH value of the water. However, once in the blood stream, it will
act as alkaline buffer and, when too much acid is around, the lungs
will exhale CO2 The only problem with this method is that continued
consumption of baking soda will upset the potassium/sodium balance of
the body, creating bad side effects as high blood pressure.
As
long as we eat food, we need to drink alkaline water to neutralize the
excess acidic wastes food produces. Drinking alkaline water is not a
short-term project, it is a lifestyle change. AlkaLife® contains the

How does alkaline water work to extend life
Alkaline water and stomach acid
We
all know that we get old and sick because of excess acid accumulation
in our body, and that alkaline neutralizes acid; therefore, drinking
alkaline water makes sense. But do we know how alkaline water works in our body? Some doctors say that our stomach acid will kill the alkalinity and, therefore, drinking alkaline water is useless. How do we answer that? Have you thought about that?
This is what happens in the stomach.
The stomach maintains its pH around 4.0. When we drink high pH alkaline water, the water pH comes down; but stomach pH goes up as a result. How high it goes up is a function of the amount and the pH of the alkaline water we drink. When
the stomach pH rises above 4.5, the stomach will produce more
hydrochloric acid and put it in the stomach to bring the stomach pH
down to below 4.0.
How the stomach produces hydrochloric acid is not well known to medical doctors, except pathologists. The chemical formula of hydrochloric acid production is:
H2O + CO2 + NaCl = HCl + NaHCO3
Water, carbon dioxide and sodium chloride (table salt) produce hydrochloric acid and sodium bicarbonate. The hydrochloric acid goes into the stomach, and the sodium bicarbonate goes into the bloodstream.
[Note:
An interesting fact is that the formula above looks simple, but no
scientist in a laboratory can produce hydrochloric acid and sodium
bicarbonate from water and carbon dioxide and salt. Only living cells can do that. In
the lab, the reverse is easy: adding hydrochloric acid to sodium
bicarbonate will instantly produce water, carbon dioxide and salt.]
Sodium bicarbonate is an alkaline buffer in our blood. In
our blood, there are alkaline buffer and acid buffer constantly
monitoring the blood pH to maintain a constant blood pH of 7.365. When
the blood becomes too alkaline, the acid buffer works to bring the pH
down; and when the blood becomes too acid, the alkaline buffer works to
raise the pH.
Alkaline buffers are bicarbonate (HCO3-) mated with alkaline minerals. Examples of them are sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3), potassium bicarbonate (KHCO3), calcium bicarbonate (Ca(HCO3)2) and magnesium bicarbonate (Mg(HCO3)2). Acid buffer is mainly carbonic acid (H2CO3), a water and carbon dioxide combination. Carbohydrate completely burnt becomes carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O); therefore there is no shortage of acid buffer.
DISCOVERY BY DR. LYNDA FRASSETTO
In
1996 Dr. Lynda Frassetto at the University of California, San
Francisco, discovered that as we age, starting around age 45, we lose
the alkaline buffer bicarbonates - in our blood. By the age of 90, we lose 18% of bicarbonates in our blood.

Insufficient
amount of bicarbonates in our blood reduces our capabilities to manage
(neutralize and dump) the acid our body produces. This is the cause of aging. The
age of 45 is the average age when human beings start to show symptoms
of diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis and many other adult
degenerative diseases. And since we cannot manage the acid, we accumulate acidic wastes in our body. These wastes show up as cholesterol, fatty acid, uric acid, urate, sulfate, phosphate, kidney stones, etc.
WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PROPERTIY OF ALKALINE WATER?
There
are many properties in alkaline water, such as surface tension,
structure of water, molecular size, oxygen reduction potential, pH
value, which alkaline minerals are used to sustain the pH value, etc. However, with the exception of the water's pH value, nothing else helps the blood receive bicarbonates. Also, all the other properties change as the water reaches the stomach and interacts with the stomach acid. Even the pH value changes in the stomach. However,
the change of pH value causes the stomach to produce hydrochloric acid
that goes into the stomach, and the bicarbonates go into the
bloodstream. The most important function of alkaline water is to increase bicarbonates in the blood because we lose bicarbonates as we age.
When
we say that we alkalize our body, we don't necessarily mean increasing
our saliva pH or urine pH; it means increasing the bicarbonates in our
blood. The blood pH does not change, but the ability of our blood to neutralize acid in the body increases.
In
the January/February 2003 issue of American Industrial Hygiene
Association Journal, Dr. Gospodinka R. Pradova published the result of
a 10-year study of industrial pollution in Bulgaria.
The
study compares two groups of people in a plastic manufacturing plant:
one group working in the plant with chemical pollution, the other in
the non-polluted office environment of the same company. The
conclusion shows that people living/working in a polluted environment
have less amount of bicarbonates in their blood than people working in
a clean environment.
We
live in a world that was changed from an agricultural environment to an
industrial environment, which produces more pollution. Our stressful life-styles create more acid, which causes us to use up more bicarbonates. Some
foods are more acidic than others, especially, high protein meat
products and highly acidic soft drinks. These are the reasons why we
lose bicarbonates in the blood as we age.
The medical society considers the reduction of bicarbonates in the blood as an inevitable fact of aging. I argue that the reduction of bicarbonates in the blood is the cause of aging and diseases, not the result of aging. As long as we can replenish bicarbonates in the blood, we don't have to age!
This is the good news about alkaline water!
WHEN TO DRINK ALKALINE WATER
Since
bicarbonates enter the bloodstream only when the stomach produces
hydrochloric acid, it is important that we drink as high a pH value
alkaline water as possible. I recommend we drink alkaline water on an empty stomach. On
an empty stomach, the stomach pH value may be high but the amount
(volume) of hydrochloric acid in the stomach is small; therefore,
drinking high pH (9.5 to 10) alkaline water will raise the stomach pH
relatively high. That may cause the stomach to produce more hydrochloric acid, allowing morebicarbonates to enter the bloodstream.
Another
possibility is that alkaline water may pass into the intestine
immediately, since there is no solid food in the stomach to be digested. When that happens, the blood will absorb alkaline water into the bloodstream from the intestine. If alkaline water is introduced directly into the bloodstream from the intestine, the acid buffer (carbonic acid, H2CO3) will interact with the alkaline water to bring down the blood pH and the acid buffer will become the alkaline buffer.

An increase of bicarbonates in the bloodstream will prevent aging and the onset of adult degenerative diseases. Now you know the scientific mechanics of how alkaline water extends life.Â
The above example is based on calcium hydroxide-rich alkaline water. This kind of water is produced with a water ionizer because the alkaline mineral in tap water is predominantly calcium.
Alkaline water made with AlkaLife® contains potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide in a patented ratio. When potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide goes into the bloodstream, again the acid buffer, carbonic acid (H2CO3) reacts with them and they become bicarbonates and water.

Various
kinds of commercially produced water claim health benefits: energy
water, Pi water, snow melted water, special spring water,

Some people argue that we can ingest bicarbonates (baking soda). It
will be like ingesting salt because our stomach acid will break that
